User Guide: Merge Marketplace (Testnet)

This guide will walk you through what Merge Marketplace is, why you should use it, and how to test it on the Core Blockchain Devnet.

Last updated 6 months ago

What is Merge Marketplace?

The Merge Marketplace is a platform that connects BTC holders and CORE holders for dual-staking on Core Chain. BTC holders can create Merge orders, while CORE holders can match these orders, enabling both to share the highest reward tier from Core Chain dual-staking.

Why do I need to use Merge Marketplace?

If you’re a BTC holder or a CORE holder, the Merge Marketplace lowers the capital barriers to staking by letting you collaborate with others. BTC holders can earn boosted staking rewards without needing CORE, and CORE holders can maximize their yields by matching with BTC orders. It’s a win-win for everyone!

How to test Merge Marketplace (testnet)

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following ready:

  1. The Merge Order (testnet) runs on the Core Blockchain Devnet.

Once you have everything set up, you’re ready to dive in!

For BTC Holders: Creating a Merge Order

If you’re a BTC holder looking to create a Merge order, follow these steps:

On the main screen, find and click the ‘Create Order’ button.

1

Set reward sharing allocation

Enter the percentage of rewards you’d like to keep, with the remainder going to CORE holders.

2

Stake BTC

Enter the amount of BTC you want to stake and click ‘Proceed to Stake’ to lock your funds.

3

Activate Your Order (only on Core Devnet)

On the Core Devnet, you’ll need to click the ‘Activate’ button after locking BTC to activate your Merge order due to some instability with the relayer between Core devnet and BTC testnet.

On the Core Chain Mainnet, this step won’t be required. After step 2, your Merge order is created and automatically activated.

That’s it! Your order is now live. Wait for CORE holders to match with your BTC to enable dual-staking.

Why haven't my merge order shown up in marketplace?

As with all blockchain transactions, it's not instantaneous. Bitcoin deposits take about 6 blocks to confirm. Once confirmed, your order will appear in the marketplace.

Visit the ‘My Order’ tab to view your created orders.

If you’re on Core Devnet, make sure you’ve clicked the ‘Activate’ button.

For CORE Holders: Selecting Orders for Dual-Staking

If you’re a CORE holder ready to match a BTC Merge order, here’s how to do it:

1

Browse orders

  • Review the list of active Merge orders displayed on the main screen.

  • Choose an order that best suits your staking preferences and click on it to view the details, such as reward sharing and BTC staked amounts.

2

Stake CORE

  • Enter the amount of CORE you wish to stake, based on the yield tier you want to achieve.

  • Click the ‘Proceed to Stake’ button to confirm your deposit.

That’s it! Your CORE will be merged with the BTC staker’s order, enabling dual-staking on the Core Chain.

Make sure you have enough dCORE in your wallet for gas fees. You can claim dCORE here: .

To test BTC deposits, you’ll need BTC testnet. You can claim BTC testnet here:
